Hello again, we hope you all had a wonderful Mewmorial Day weekend!
It’s been a busy week, mostly with the same tasks as we mentioned last week. We had our final coffee supplier meeting, and finished choosing our cafe equipment, which is a critical part of our submission to the city.
Unfortunately, we’ve learned that architects are EXPENSIVE, and also a required part of this process. We don’t want to waste the funds you’ve all helped us raise, so we’ve gotten multiple proposals to try and find the team best suited to help us navigate the city processes as quickly as possible and create the most cozy cafe in Cleveland! We hope to finish this and submit our full plan within the next two weeks.
On the lighter side, we are SO EXCITED that we will finally be able to get in the space early next week! We’ll post tons of pictures of the empty space soon, as well as some of our sketches so you know what’s coming!
On Saturday, we’ll actually be out in Sandusky spreading the word about affoGATO and generally being nerds at Colossalcon. We’ll either be wearing affoGATO shirts, or cafe-related cosplay (pics will be on social media), so if you see us, please say hi!
We were in the press again, this time in Cleveland Scene’s list of 31 ways to enjoy the summer. We feel so happy to be featured alongside so many other amazing local businesses and fun summer events!
Finally, thank you to everyone who has continued to donate on GoFundMe! Thanks to all of your help, we’re up to $8,457 towards our renovations. Our end date (June 16) is coming up quick, so make sure that you and your friends earn the rewards that you want before then.
