Alternatively, if you have spare of these items already, or prefer to shop from a local pet store, you can drop donations off at the cafe anytime during our business hours! Please note that we are not a 501(c)(3), so donations/gifts to us are not tax-deductible, just highly appreciated! If you prefer to donate to an organization that is tax-deductible, we prefer that you sponsor a cat (below) or donate to the Cleveland APL and other wonderful animal-related charities.
(Not included on the list since it doesn’t involve cat care: Our cafe is decorated with cat-themed books and games. They get damaged over time and our collection has been drastically reduced over the years, so we’d love donations of used or new cat-themed books and games!)
Here are other ways to help:
- Hang out with the cats. Visits to the lounge support our mission through our reservation fee, and the cats get socialized! Win-win!
- Get cat-feinated! Buying delicious drinks and snacks from the cafe side(cat-free, no reservation needed!) supports the cat lounge. We have a full espresso and tea menu made with local ingredients!
- Shop for Merch. We try and source as many local goods as possible. When you buy drinks, snacks, and merchandise, you support us AND other local businesses!
- Write a good review. It helps others find us on Google and Facebook.
- Comment something kind on our social media. It helps morale!
- Share the cats online. Share our posts and your own pics of the cats on your social media so we can reach the highest number of potential adopters! Instagram / Facebook / Twitter
- Volunteer at local shelters.
- Learn to responsibly care for ferals and Trap-Neuter-Release(TNR).
- Educate and advocate FOR spay/neuter programs and animal protective laws, and AGAINST declawing and breeding.
- Sponsor a cat’s adoption. You can pay the adoption fee (typically $50) for a cat at affoGATO, or a cat at the shelter! Just give us a call at 440-941-5130, and we can process payments via cash or card. We highly encourage sponsoring “less adoptable” cats such as seniors, special needs, or FIV+ cats!
