Cleveland is known for a lot of things…a vibrant art community and theaters, amazing food and beer, and beautiful lakeside parks and beaches.
But over the last few weeks, we discovered that Cleveland has a seriously underrated coffee scene. Every local coffee roaster that we met was passionate and knowledgeable about their craft, and had their own unique techniques and flavor. In addition, each had a strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility, from the fair treatment of their farmers to the environmental impact of production and sales. We are so proud to live and open our business in such a conscientious and talented community!
Of these many incredible companies, we are excited to announce that we will be working with Rising Star Coffee!
Many of you may have tried Rising Star, as they have locations in Hingetown, Lakewood, Little Italy, Downtown, and more. Not only do they have an amazing selection of delicious coffees, but they share our passion for community involvement and events, corporate ethical and environmental responsibility, and animal welfare.
In their own words, “Our Philosophy about coffee is simple. Buy dang good coffee and pay the farmer and the producer enough money to live and maybe even enjoy life. That’s it. Our coffee isn’t fair trade, free trade, direct trade, or any other model. Our coffee is Relationship Coffee. We know who we buy coffee from, and we know what makes their coffee unique, and we want to share that with you.”
Through our relationship with Rising Star, we can’t wait to share these stories and delicious brews with you too.
We also plan to have our own unique house blend created by Rising Star. We will brew this in our cafe and also have packages available for you to take home! A portion of the proceeds from the each sale of this affoGATO house blend will be donated to benefit animal-related causes.
